Making English Easy To Learn轻松学英语
English is just a language. Why do so many people complain that it is difficult to learn? Do you remember how you learned your mother tongue-Chinese? When we were small babies we couldn't speak a single word at first. But our mothers (sometimes father) talked to us with very si mple words again and again. We just listened to them in a passive way because we didn't know how to speak. After a year or more of repeated listening we could utter a word or two. We were very happy because our parents praised us a lot when they heard us speak out some words. When babies can speak they feel very happy and excited so they will repeat the words many times, which sometimes makes parents feel tired of listening to the words again and again. When we could speak words we would ask more if we like it and say \"No\" if we didn't like it. Those were the two important period of language learning--Listening and speaking. As for reading and writing we gained them when we were in primary school, where teachers taught us how to read and write. How did we learn English? i think most of us learned English in the opposite way. We didn't practice listening first. Most of us could do reading or writing in English well after we learned it for some years but we couldn't understand when foreigners spoke English to us. Neither could we express ourselves well in spoken English. In schools teachers encourage students to do tons of written exercises so that they can pass many kinds of English tests. Both teachers and students are happy when they get high scores in English exams. Unfortunately, most of us can't use English well when we do business with foreigners. The problem is that we didn't learn English in its natural way and didn't use the language when we learned it. We learned English just for exams. My advice is that we should learn English in the way as we learned our mother language and use English while we learn it. Using the language in our everyday work and life is a very efficient way to improve our language skills.
