with the developmet ofmodern society,more and more people show greater interest in learning English.especiallysome parents of primary school pupils.As they have less knowledge of English , they lay more hopeon their following generation they would pay much more for the materials their children need,they arrange their children to attend a variety of classes,wishing their children to be dragons.......they can do all without hesitation for their children. I agree with you .as what you said is so important, and it is true.to tell the truth,children ,especially in our countryside they have no soundings to learn English well,and they also know the importance of learning English,childrn in junior 1or 2they have strong interest in it but in junior 3.to attend the senior entrance examination,they have to learn what they will be tested by heart .and 85% of the knowledge is learned.if you know the first letter of the passage you will know the answers of 1,2,3,4,5.That is learning??????.ablity??????
how will they face the learning ofsenior school?college?university? It is true that many children lose their interest in English after one or two years of learning because they are forced to learn many words by heart. They are tired of doing that way. Plenty of homework leaves them no free time to show their own interest. Teachers should not be blamed. They have no choice. They have to work hard in order to have their students to pass all kinds of exams because the students performance in the exams decides the teachers' rewards or punishments. Good education should recoganize individualism of the students. We should never force what we haveupon the students. If any of you have good ideas to teach children English please share them with us here. I am sure many English teachers here can have their own ways of teaching english well.
