Morning Session Waived for Beijing Kids北京中小学生新学期取消早自习Starting from the next semester（学期） in September, classes for students in Beijing's primary and secondary schools will start at no earlier than eight o'clock in the morning, according to a regulation released（颁布） by the municipal（市） education commission（教委） on Thursday.
To give students more time for sleep, the new regulation put a stop to the \"self-study class\" before 8 am, which used to be a routine（惯例） in most of the schools, the Beijing Times reports.
Considering some students are sent to school by their parents who have to go to work before 8 am, the school might organize physical exercises for the early arrivers.

This means the roads may not be as clogged（拥挤） as before, which could also ease pollution.
The government raised the prices of gasoline and diesel（柴油） by 16-18 percent on June 20. Based on the adjustment, the price of No.93 gasoline has soared（涨） to 6.25 yuan per liter（升）, with a markup(涨幅) of 0.86 yuan, which has led to paying more at the pump（加油站） for car owners.
