When you talk about learning you can use "Knowledge is like a garden. if it is not cultivated, it cannot be harvested. " It means if you want to learn something well you have to work hard at it.

Yes. it is a good one. Simple sentence can express complicated meaning. Some English learners like to use long and complicated sentences. In fact, i prefer simple ones. Why use long sentence if a short one can express the meaning well?
