Ben and Dan

Ben and Dan are two popluar American names for boys. Ben is the shortened form for Benjamin and Dan is for Daniel. But when the two names are put together their sound in Chinese means \" a fool\" . If a mother has two boys and calls them Ben and Dan it will be embarrassing if she call the two boys' names in China. Does it sound funny ?
