Very Hot Sunlight 炙热的阳光

Today is the hottest day since summer is here. The sunlight is sizzling. It is 39 degrees centigrade here in Tianjin. In most part of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province as well as other nearby provinces the temperature is over 35 degrees. Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei, is 40 degrees. We can feel the burning hot sunlight shining directly on our body if we stay outside. Last Sunday was summer solstice(夏至), which marks the beginning of the hot summer days. The dog days of summer usually start three weeks after summer solstice. So no wonder it is 39 degrees today. How nice if we could go to the river to swim now. The water could cool us and make us feel better in such hot weather.

Yes, It is really hot today, as hot as it was yesterday. Better stay in the shade or inside the room. we might get sunburn if we stay in the sun too long.

The sun might be bad for us in large amounts but for plants and wildlife it is good. Your skin can be damaged by UV rays of the sun. Although the sun can damage our skin it can also be good if we take care. Before going out on a sunny day don't forget to Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek for shade.
