The Peach Blossom Spring 桃花源记

Flowers always make the earliest announcement of spring. Peach trees are native to <st1:country-region w:st="on">China and they flower in early spring before their leaves sprout. In <st1:country-region w:st="on">China peach blossoms are often related to spring and there are many poems and songs to praise peach blossoms and warm spring. A very famous Chinese writer and poet, Tao Yuanming, wrote the well-known essay The Tale of the Peach Blossom Spring (Chinese: 桃花源记). It tells a story of a fisherman who stumbles upon a village where people lived an ideal existence in harmony with nature, unaware of the outside world for centuries. The fisherman eventually left to go home but never was able to find the place again.
