A couple in their 80s tied the knot （tie the knot 喜结良缘）recently after dating(约会) for only a month in Chongqing Municipality, according to Chongqing Evening News.


Sun, 83, met her sweetheart Xin, 80, at an old people's home last month.

The two fell in love and dated three times before they recently married.

A woman who was been beaten by her husband for 10 years has now started attending a martial arts school to learn self-defence（自卫） skills.

Liang, 30, ran away from home and recently moved into the martial arts school in Chongqing.

Liang, the mother of a 9-year-old boy, said she was fed up with（受够了） her husband treating her like a punchbag（沙袋）.

Couples claim（声称）to be baby's parents

Two couples in Lianjiang, Fujian Province, had to resort to（采取）a DNA test to determine who were the parents of a baby boy.

Last Wednesday, two babies, a boy and a girl, were born at almost the same time in a local hospital.

However, the two families both insisted that the boy was theirs. Neither family was willing to accept the girl.

The couples later requested a DNA test. Local police are investigating（调查）the matter

A man in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, recently signed（制定）a contract（合同）with his son and daughter-in-law to encourage them to \"respect and love\" each other,
In the special contract, Chen, who purchased a new flat for the newlyweds（新婚夫妇）, promised to let the couple become the owner of the property if they remain married for 10 years.

Old woman ordered to plant trees

An elderly woman in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, was recently ordered by a court（法院）to plant a total of 13,620 trees over the next two years, exactly the same number of trees she had destroyed in a fire.

Ji was offering a sacrifice（祭品）to dead relatives on a mountain in March 2005 when a candle she was carrying set fire to some dry grass.

The fire spread quickly across the mountain and destroyed trees worth 129,000 yuan (US$15,906).

In addition to being ordered to plant the trees, Ji was sentenced to six months' imprisonment（关押）.

Little piggy causes traffic jam

A piglet（小猪）caused a traffic jam（交通拥塞）on Xupu Bridge in Shanghai over the weekend after it escaped from a truck.

The piglet was spotted（看到）running on the bridge during the morning rush hour, after it escaped from a cage.

The truck's driver was forced to make an emergency（紧急的）stop and chased after the pig.

The driver ended up（结果）using a rope to catch the runaway pig.
