More Sleep, Less Fat 孩子睡眠少易发胖

Children who don't get enough sleep tend to be fatter, a new study has found.

Researchers at the University of Michigan studied a group of 11-year-old children.
Those kids who slept less than eight hours a day were more likely to be overweight.

On the other hand, the children who slept longer were slimmer(瘦).

A new study in Britain has shown how important sleep is to a person's health.

According to the study, those people who sleep less than seven hours a night are more likely to die of heart disease.

Almost a third of the British population is sleeping five hours a night or less.

I sleep more than 8 hous a day, or I can't work. Also, enough sleep can make you more beautiful

Become a sleeping beauty 睡眠与健康

It is known that most people spend one third of their lives sleeping. Having enough sleep relieves stress(减轻压力)and takes away stress. Therefore sleeping quality has a direct impact(影响)on our health and daily lives. But the problem is that for most people, especially office workers, it is not easy to get enough sleep. For centuries, people have been troubled by insomnia(失眠).
Fortunately over the years a wealth of information has come to light on(说明)how to deal with insomnia, helping people go from stressed out insomniacs(失眠症者)to sleeping beauties. There are three ways to deal with it.

Pay attention to your daily diet(饮食)!

How well you sleep is closely connected to your daily diet. If you eat greasy(油腻的)or hard-to-digest(难消化的)food for supper or eat just before you sleep, it will keep your digestive(消化的)system working, keeping you awake. What should be on your daily menu(菜单)?

For supper, you can choose something low-fat and digestible(好消化的)like fish, chicken or lean(瘦的)meat. Also, eat some carbohydrates(碳水化合物)like rice and wheat. All the foods mentioned above can soothe(缓和)the nerves(神经). Avoid foods that cause gas such as legume(豆类), potato, corn, banana, bread, carbonic acid(碳酸)drinks and desserts.If you sill cannot sleep well after cutting out these harmful foods, try adding some foods that will make you sleepy, such as milk, oats(燕麦), honey, lotus seeds(莲子), longan(龙眼)or Chinese dates.

Create a good sleeping environment!!

A good sleeping environment includes comfortable pajamas(睡衣), a soft quilt(被窝), and most importantly, a cozy mattress(舒适的床垫).

But what kind of mattress is cozy? There are three things you need to pay attention to. First, the stuff(东西) inside should be soft and thick (no less than 2cm) and made from material like pongee(茧绸) or spray-bonded cotton(喷胶棉). This kind of material relaxes your muscles and regulates blood circulation(循环). Second, the mattress should be suitably(合适的) firm, and the texture(质地) elastic(有弹力). . Only a mattress that curves(弯曲) to your body will give you the best night's sleep. Last but not least, the mattress should breathe(透气), ensuring you have a good night's sleep.

How to choose a mattress?

When selecting a mattress, make sure to lie down on it. If you feel that your waist is hanging in the air that means it is too hard. If your waist and hips sink into the mattress that means it is too soft. The most suitable mattress is the one that conforms(与一致) to your body shape.

Do something relaxing(放松的)

In order to get a good night's sleep, you should not only relax your body, but also your mind. Try to do something to relax your mind before going to bed.

Listening to soft music, reading or watching some light tv for half an hour before going to bed is a good way to make you feel sleepy. If you still can't sleep, try some light exercise like walking or jogging to get rid of stress and increase your blood circulation. Also taking a bath or soaking(浸泡) your feet in warm water can help your blood circulation and relax your body.

Most young guys today are lack of sleep. They don't go to bed until mid-night and spend much time on internet or watching TV. I suggest they should go to bed early and get up early. Early to bed and early to rise is good for health.
